I'm Still Doing This Blog Thing I Guess

Well kids, it's been a while. This semester is almost over and I haven't blogged a word since what, July? August?

Let's see. Well, my last entry was compaining about my roommate. She's not that bad, actually. She's a damn sight better than my last one. We don't talk at all, but she's at least curteous and usually out of the room, which is good because I like my solitude. However, tonight she is doing something that is kind of annoying and that she's done one time before: going to bed at seven at night. It's weird, but I'll just assume she's been up for a while and really needs it. Thus, I finished be homework here in the lab in the Smith Hall basement, where I am currently writing this blog.

I can't wait for this semester to be over! It's been going fast enough, which is weird considering that I haven't had much to do. I've been working every other weekend, been to Madison twice, been home a few times, but I haven't seen much of Adam since he dropped, nor have I seen Kory's new room at the old U of M, nor will I for, well, a year!

Because I'm going to London in the spring!!!!!!!

I'm so excited. Also nervous. But mostly excited. I'll have three roommates but...one of them will be Catey, my dear friend! And I'll be in London! Did I mention that? For three whole months!
I'm going to miss everyone so much come this spring! I hardly see you all nowadays, so it won't be too different. Still, there will be an ocean between us rather than just a few hours' driving, but that' what the internet is for, right?

Anyway, what's been going on in my life?

Not much. I tried NaNo again this year. I got more than halfway there before my story came to a crashing halt and the amount of school work became overwhelming. It's an idea that I'd like better as a play, though, which I may attempt to write someday. Some good came out of it though. I miss writing, and it gave me the oppurtunity to be creative, which I don't get too often when I'm busy with school. Oddly enough, as soon as I scrapped this year's NaNo, I got a new idea for a story. I don't think I'm going to write it out though. It would probably work better as a comic, so maybe that will be my project over this next summer. Or not, we'll see.

School's been alright, I guess. I'm doing well in all my classes. I may be getting some Bs this semester though, potentially in Environmental History (because my big paper sucked), Spanish (because I made some stupid mistakes on the midterm), and Biology (because Feldman is just... ugh!). I wrote an awesome paper on King Lear and Kurosawa's Ran, though, lol. I'm kind of really proud of it and am going to add it to my collection of awesome papers I've written about Shakespeare. Be jealous :P

Anyway, I've been really in to Florence and the Machine lately. Lungs is just an amazing album that always takes me on a magical journey (and no, I don't care how corny that sounds, it's true.) I've also been digging Regina Spektor more and more, especially the songs where it's just her and her piano. She has such amazing story-telling skills! And I've found a fun Irish punk band called the Tossers that are awesome (and predate Flogging Molly and the Dropkick Murphys) But alas, just as I am discovering all kinds of music that I love, my iPod dies. For no reason. It's just dead. It is pushing up daisies. It has bought the farm. It has ceased to be. It is an ex-iPod.

So I'm thinking about getting a Zune. We'll see how that turns out.

So yeah, this has been all over the place, but I've nothing else to do right now. I've been feeling like reading the old Dragonlance Chronicles again... and Legends... too bad they are at my house in Manitowoc. Oh well. I guess I'll end it here before another random thought comes...

Why does everyone think strawberries are so delicious? They're disgusting!

And Christmas! I'm excited for my Jane Eyre stuff and my Golden Sun game! And Fantasia on DVD hopefully! And hanging out with my family, which was kind of fun on Thanksgiving (shots with my mom and Kristin!) and will hopefully be fun on Christmas too!
